Empowering Namibian Filmmakers
Filmmakers Association of Namibia (FAN) was established in 2000 with the thrust of upholding the growth and development of the Namibian film and video industry. The association survives through support from its members. FAN does not only depend on information sharing from local film industries but rather international as well. The organization, in partnership with the Namibia Film Commission, and other bodies strives towards common goals that support the industry. The idea is to advance the Namibian film community as a whole.
To cultivate a thriving Namibian film industry that is at the forefront of global trends, while honoring its rich legacy. We envision a community where filmmakers are globally recognized, where resources and skills are abundant, where sustained income is assured, and where robust legislation supports continuous growth.
Our mission is to empower Namibian filmmakers to participate and influence global markets and cultural creative industries. We are committed to creating an environment where comprehensive resources and skills training are readily accessible to build a fully equipped industry. We strive to create an environment where members benefit from sustained opportunities and aim to advocate for the formulation and enforcement of effective legislation that supports the film industry’s advancement.
We are The Filmmakers’ Association of Namibia, and our objective is to promote the growth and development of the Namibian film and video industry.
